Plans for 2014

It's always a learning curve when you start up a business, and trying to keep a balance between what people want, what your insurance company wants and what you're willing to give, always makes life interesting!

Lots of people like to have their dogs exercised off leash, but the simple fact is many are not in close enough control to be able to do so safely in public.
A dog that won't come back, runs up to people and other dogs (even in a "friendly" manner) or chases wildlife is not only a nuisance to other people and animals but is a real danger to themselves.
Out of control dogs are responsible for fouling (because its hard to see if they've fouled if they're very far away) and causing problems for ground nesting birds and other animals at key times of the year.
Also, when dogs are allowed to run amok on private land, there is a real threat that the land owner could make it difficult or even impossible for any dog walker to use their walking facilities.

While we are huge advocates of the benefits of real on leash walking (that is walking at a consistent speed and covering aprox 4 miles per hour) for both mental and physical well being, we also understand that a good free run is also welcome a couple of times a week.

With this in mind, we are looking to utilize our land here at Tor Croft, securing fencing and planting trees to make an 8 acre area where dogs with moderate recall can be safely let loose to play.

We're also fully dog proofing a smaller paddock for dogs who are still in training and puppies, so we have a controlled environment for them to play loose and further their education.

We're very excited about being able to offer this additional service and would love your feed back and ideas!
