Horses

Leaving your horse in someone else's care can be a nerve wracking experience!

Where as most people have had experience handling dogs, cats and other domestic animals, horses are not an animal that can be cared for without experience.

Kelly and Kim have had many years experience working with horses professionally and you can be rest assured that your horse/s would be left in the best hands possible.

Kim.

Kim started riding as a child, and after a short break in which he preferred football (!) he took up riding regularly in his mid teens again.

For many years he worked on racing yards, work riding and as travelling head lad, before going back to college as a mature student to get his BTEC (national Diploma in Horse Management and Business Studies) from Cannington college.
During his time there he did work experience at riding schools and at stud.
After leaving college he went to work as yard manager for a large animal vet practice.
Later on he ran his own backing and schooling yard in Somerset with Kelly, where they brought on youngsters and rehabilitated horses.
During all this time he also had his own horses that he competed in unaffiliated Dressage, SJ and ODEs.
Most recently he has been working with endurance horses.

Kelly.

Kelly started riding as a child and was soon helping out at her local riding schools.
After leaving school she started working towards her BHSPT, clocking up many hours of teaching, but a family move meant she changed career paths.
After a year working for a private showing and stud yard, she went into the racing industry.
While working on a NH yard she went to The British Racing School, going back three times and earning a NVQ level III in riding and racehorse management.
After leaving the NH yard she went to work for a permit trainer as head girl, being responsible for the day to day running of the yard, backing youngsters, clipping, travelling with racehorses and work riding.
Kelly set up a yard with Kim and competed youngsters in Dressage, SJ and ODE at an unaffiliated level.
Most recently she has been working with her own horses and teaching her children how to ride.

Our experience means that even if your horse needs specialist care (ie, wound management, laminitis etc), you can confidently go away knowing that your horse will get the same attention as you would give them.

*Please note*
Although we offer pet sit/ home visit for horses, this does NOT include riding. Lunging can be arranged at extra cost.
