About us.

Kim and Kelly Basford live on a small croft just outside the village of Auchleven, at  the foot of Bennachie.
They share their lives with 3 dogs, 4 horses, 1 cat, 11 chickens and their 3 children!
Both have a lifelong love of animals of all types and sizes, and many of the animals that share their lives are rescue cases that involved rehabilitation.
Keen animal rights advocates, they believe in none punitive training  methods and a compassionate and confident outlook on all animal handling.

Kim Basford.

Kim has spent his whole life surrounded by animals, growing up with parents that bred corgis and foxhounds respectively, he was also riding pretty much by the time he could walk!
A love of animals continued, and Kim spent time working with racehorses, eventers, endurance horses, in riding schools and on studs.
He also worked as yard manager for a vet, dealing mainly with horses and large animals.
Always there was a dog near his side.
For several years he ran a livery and schooling yard, in Somerset, with Kelly, where they specialised in horses with behavioral problems.
As well as being a very experienced horseman, Kim is also experienced in farm animals handling and management.

Kelly Basford.

Kelly has surrounded herself with animals from an early age, be it dogs, cats, hamsters or rabbits... even snails!
From early on she was interested in the behavior of animals and the comparisons of wild and domestic behavioral patterns.
Kelly worked with horses for many years, on racing and event yards and instructing at riding schools, as well as running a yard with Kim.
